PHONE SCAM NOTICE: 

There is a group making telephone calls to individuals in many parts of the United States claiming to be acting on behalf of the "Bradley Smith Law Firm" or the "Bradley & Smith Law Firm" in San Jose, California.  This law firm has no connection with the group of people making these calls. 

The persons making these phone calls apparently threaten people with legal action if they do not make payments toward claimed unpaid loans.  These phone calls appear to originate from the 818 area code, in southern California, several hundred miles from San Jose, where this law office is located. 

This problem has been reported to local law enforcement, the San Jose Police Department, and the matter has been assigned case number 11-236-9517.  The matter has also been reported to the San Jose, California office of the FBI.  At the direction of the FBI, the matter has been reported to the Internet Crime Complaint Center online.  The connection to the internet appears to be indirect, but the "IC3" appears to be the law enforcement clearing house for this type of matter.

If you are a victim of this scam, you are urged to report the matter to your local law enforcement agency and to the FBI and/or Internet Crime Complaint Center online.  Please be assured that this law office is not planning to bring legal action against you.
